Boald Design Studio - High-end Audio Experience for Music Lovers project

Introduction

Digital Sound Company (DSC) excels in providing a premier audio experience through cutting-edge hardware technology. Versed, a renowned American design agency, invited us to partner on the development and execution of a comprehensive UX/UI strategy for an integrated software and hardware user experience (for tablet, mobile and interaction with stereo hardware).

The challenge involved enhancing the existing software experience to enable users to more thoroughly customise their ideal sound. Additionally, it was vital to refine the hardware interface feedback. From a branding perspective, we refined and improved the overall aesthetic, moving towards a more abstract space that emphasises emotions over technical details by incorporating depth and patterns.

Process

We worked very closely with the creative director to really enhance the all experience. It's been a real pleasure to collaborate with Versed Team.

We started by defining and mapping out the hierarchy of information and the different functionalities.
We scoped the different flows, and started wireframing them like multilevel navigation in a 3D space, immersive onboarding, simplified volume management gesture
Once approved, we designed hi-fidelity mockups and started building the Design system accordingly to the brand guidelines, creating an iconography custom set.
We prototyped the main flows to get user-feedback and handover design to developers
